You already read How to grind like a pro for cups, but the tournament changed and that is old news, unless you are going to be a top 50 player. You supported the fleet by pushing as hard as you could all month, trying to get as many cups as you could.
Not anymore. Now it is about the stars and Savy keeps changing the rules of what battles you will find. You don’t need to grind as much, but you do need to battle. However, here are some rules of thumb that should be valid.
Also you need to consider your targets to benefit the group
Above anything be active. The way the new tournament works, it rewards grinding. Your activity only counts during finals, unlike before that your monthly effort made a difference. What is active is different for each fleet. Some will require 100 stars to be active, others 20 will help.
Not anymore. Now it is about the stars and Savy keeps changing the rules of what battles you will find. You don’t need to grind as much, but you do need to battle. However, here are some rules of thumb that should be valid.
- Your ship is going for volume. So you need a strong ship to defeat your opponents with little damage and fast turnaround (little restocking time). This implies being at a league where you have plenty of targets. The push alliance is fun, but maybe it isn’t for everyone.
- Be patient. Stared battles take searching, so search for an opponent that pays well. Currently there isn’t a timeout penalty, but Savy tends to find ways to limit the stared battles.
- Use of 12h immunities (especially during first night when whales are on the hunt nonstop. The first day is the hardest to find stars, so don’t be discouraged. As the week goes on, it’ll be easier to find battles
- Don’t overreach. Losing doesn’t take stars away, but time.
- Unlike when grinding for cups, defending gives half the stars. If you lost against a stronger fleet, you might want to make up the loses and some more whenever you are online. However, you don’t need to worry about being online all day as for cups. So you can go offline as often as you like, just make up for the loses.
- A corollary to the previous point, is battle often. If you battle 7 times for seven days and once more, you can do 100 stars with no effort. Just choose battles with at least 2 stars.
Also you need to consider your targets to benefit the group
- You can attack our ships if they come up on pvp, if you can defeat them. Try not to hit ships that you can’t kill (you might weaken their defenses). This is especially important, if they are at other divisions, since you will protect them from giving stars to other ships
- Don’t attack fleets in higher divisions. If you destroy one of their ships, nobody will get the stars. So by skipping them, someone might get some stars. Don’t give them free immunities. There is an alternate point of view is that if you attack those ships, you will prevent someone else from getting the stars. However, this depends how active are our guys at that division. Let us know your opinion on this.

- Don’t forget to log to your account at least on the 20th of the month
- Try to do a few battles a day if you can’t afford more time
- Have fun
