Lying low

Having been pillaged of hard won resources whilst away lately, I have been trying a new tactic... Spend everything! We don't really need to fear Pvp defeat, all you lose is resources and maybe a few cups. I have found if I spend all my resources, even removing defensive rooms to build new ones ( like a second AA or additional resource rooms) I seem to be a less juicy target and attacked less. New rooms are cheaper, faster too and can be swapped out later for better ones. Is two 10 mineral rooms better than one 12? Maybe... Anyway, it seems to be working for me and gives me options for when I get a bigger ship too. Any thoughts?

Have you seen the How to pillage resources thread? Indeed if they figure you aren't a juicy target they might ignore you. Though not necessarily, they might want to bang horns with you to see how strong you are or just for fun if they are more powerful. Still your advice is good, and if possible (at your ship's level it should be) don't keep more than you should. I play mineral draw to get rid of the extra minerals, or upgrade crew for the gas. Your suggestion for building other rooms is great. Many times it is cheaper and faster to build a new room (though still can take a while), than the next size. It might not always be feasible, a level 10 ship needs 3 level 12 storage for some upgrades. Take a look at the Don't upgrade storage rooms to 12 thread Nice we want more of your ideas

Thanks. Well my kill rate has fallen by being poor, but it isn't a strategy you can do when saving up for a big upgrade. I guess it's a percentages thing. I think my key learning is don't be afraid of loosing, focus on getting stronger rather than not being beaten when away.

An alternative to lying low, is when you have no gas, alas no battle power
You need to get enough gas to buy missiles. There are two ways I can think of:
- Do a mission. This is the best option
- However if you don't have any left, put all your gas collectors in and leave the game open. This way while you are in the game, you won't be attacked and you get to keep your hard earned gas. Then go get a penny ante ship. Don't forget to return this as they were, I have done that a few times.
You can use the time you keep the game open fishing for bux

Are you saying, if you don't exit the app, you won't be attacked? That's pretty interesting if true.

A question.. Has anyone worked out a way to get your AI to escape when offline.. I don't think you can but would be nice.

Don't think that is one of the functions of the ai does if ship hp < 25% : escape lol
The point you made is very important. It isn't the trophies, but your getting stronger. The higher levels aren't any easier and the opponents have been here for a while, so they know all the trick.
Regardless of your loss, you get a 7 hour immunity time out. If you don't come back to the game in a day, you can only loose 3 times. Now don't let those loses be lost, review them and hopefully you can get an idea. If not, post it to the alliance's chat
Loosing is not a bad thing, and it is only a game. Don't take it personal or start a vendetta against your opponent. Take it as an oportunity to find something wrong with your ship, and fix it.
You will almost certain loose more often than not, when you are upgrading. Also you can loose if you gained too many trophies too fast, and your ship wasn't ready for the new ships you will find.
You need to be active during the time you have the game open. Other wise it will kick you out. Fish for bux, chat, etc.

Ok, yes kicked out is what I thought. My time out is sleeping or working so can't do a lot of fishing, but point taken.
